Karachi, 29 March 2017: Commander 5 Corps Lt Gen Shahid Baig Mirza who is also President Executive Board DHA visited DHA City Karachi (DCK), an upcoming residential project on Super Highway, which is being expeditiously developed in accordance with the contemporary engineering and urban planning concepts. On arrival, the Corps Commander was received by Administrator DHA Brig Shahid Hassan Ali.

Commander visited various project sites in DHA City where development work was going on in full swing. He appreciated the pace and quality of development works and the pioneering role of DHA in building a planned, sustainable and smart city unique of its kind in the county. Commander appreciated the efficacy, vision and development strategy of DCK and said that DHA City has all the potential to provide an ambience of modern, secure and comfortable living to its residents.

Corps Commander inaugurated a 1.1 MW state-of-the-art Solar Power pilot project in DCK that will harness the abundance of sunshine in the area to produce environmentally safe electric energy. Commander commended the energy smart initiative of DHA City and stressed on the need of conservation of power and use of alternate source of renewable energy to overcome the shortage of electric energy in the country.

Corps Commander termed the ongoing development activities in DHA City as reassuring which he said substantiate the credibility of DHA as a trendsetter in the field of development and town planning.
