Karachi, 20 Feb 2018: Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) has established a mini Dow University Hospital DCK at DHA City Sector-3 which is equipped with all essential medical/clinical facilities. Governor Sindh Mr Muhammad Zubair Umar inaugurated the DUHS Hospital in an impressive ceremony held at DCK. Commander 5 Corps Lt. Gen Shahid Baig Mirza was also present on the occasion.

The Governor appreciated DUHS for its dynamic initiative and said that establishment of Dow University Hospital in DCK is a stepping stone forward towards establishment of a new DUHS Campus at DHA City which will extend the frontiers of world class medical education and healthcare services in the province and beyond.

The young and innocent students of DCK Junior School on the occasion presented national anthem and national songs in an immaculate manner. The Governor was much impressed by the talented students and invited them and their teachers to the Governor House to honour them.

Corps Commander commended DUHS initiative that will extend qualitative healthcare and medical services outreach to locals around DCK. He reiterated that healthy and energetic population constitute the real strength of nation who deserved to be provided best healthcare facilities.

VC DUHS Prof Dr Saeed Qureshi said that Dow Campus DCK spread over an area of 10 acres of land is being made under a four stage development programme which will culminate into establishment of a full fledged Dow Medical College linked to a 500 Beds Teaching Hospital. He said that DUHS Hospital equipped with modern medical/diagnostic facilities will function from 9AM to 5PM presently and will start functioning for 24 hours round the clock after getting the diagnostic machines and X-ray units within two months.

Administrator DHA Brig Shahid Hassan Ali said that DHA has planned a dedicated Health District spread over 95 acres in DCK, which will have leading hospitals/medical enterprises.

Later the Governor and Commander 5 Corps saw the available medical and clinical facilities at Dow University Hospital and appreciated their quality and standard. They also visited DCK Junior School in Sector-3 and other DCK projects and termed them impressive.
